Harbour Screen is now… Harbour Screen Drive In

Summer 2020 brings a brand-new cinema experience to Folkestone Harbour and Seafront

For those who have missed the big screen, the Folkestone Harbour team has been working behind the scenes to bring filmgoers a programme to be enjoyed from the comfort of their own vehicles.

Folkestone Harbour Screen’s purpose-built drive in arena is located to the west of the restored Harbour Station, in a hard-surfaced car parking area with numbered bays, designed to provide optimum sight lines. Sound will be provided via car radios.

The big screen, used with great success since 2018, has been raised on a higher platform to improve visibility.  Past audiences have remarked on the clarity and high definition of the images, even in bright sunshine. The new location is set against the backdrop of the sea, thought to be a first for the UK.

The season gets under way this week with recent Elton John biopic “Rocketman” on Saturday 18 July, followed by the legendary “Jaws” and Baz Luhrmann’s contemporary take on “Romeo and Juliet” on the afternoon and evening of Saturday 25 July, with smash hit “The Greatest Showman” and the epic “1917” on the afternoon and evening of Saturday 1 August. Further film titles will be announced in the coming weeks.

To add to the occasion, refreshments will be available from a number of the harbour arm traders, offering choices including hampers, hot dogs, wood fired pizza and a selection of drinks, all of which can be reserved in advance.

Prices are £33 or £40 per vehicle, depending on location, which includes entry to the film and parking on site for the whole day of the show. Places must be reserved in advance at https://screen.folkestoneharbourarm.co.uk/, where further details are available.

Please note: these events will be available exclusively to those in vehicles (this will be kept under review).
